Message From The Chair:

Hello again from the Chemical Engineering department. We are nearly through to the new calendar year, which brings us half way through the academic year and we have been busy. We have just mailed out over 800 packets to the alumni. In this packet is a survey which we have asked you to complete as part of our ABET 2000 information gathering exercise. For the first time we have also started a fund drive to increase the endowment of the Chemical Engineering department at URI. We hope that you respond positively to both these items. However, if you did not receive a packet, could you please e-mail me with your address, as the chances are that we may have an incorrect address for you. If you are in contact with alumni who have not received the packet could you pass on the message that we would like their address so we can contact them.

As far as news, I would point you to the news portion of the website, where we will be posting news from the Department, such as research grants, new patents, Open day information and other topical items.

Alumni Survey on Program Objectives
Chemical Engineering Department - University of Rhode Island

Dear Chemical Engineering Alumni:

We have been asked by our accreditors to survey recent graduates to solicit their input on various aspects of our chemical engineering program. This is being done to provide additional ways for all of our constituencies to help further strengthen and improve the ChE program. We are currently developing program objectives and would like to gather your perceptions on our plans.

Enclosed is a list of nine proposed program objectives which relate to several program outcomes. We would greatly appreciate your responses to the short survey listed below. Questions address each of the objectives, and a section for your comments is also provided. Please reply no later than March 1, 2001 to rbrown@egr.uri.edu . We greatly appreciate your help in joining with us to improve the chemical engineering program at URI.
