Subject: initial device concentration in project 2

Dear ChE 272 students,

Several astute class members noticed a typo on the project 2 assignment page. The text above equation 1 describes the uniform concentration of drug molecules as c0 = 0.15 mol/cm^3. The first condition underneath the equation then states that

c(x, t) = c(x, 0) = c0 = 0.1 mol/cm^3 for all x at time t = 0,

This condition is a typo. It should state that the concentration c0 is 0.15 mol/cm^3 for all x positions at time t = 0, i.e.

c(x, t) = c(x, 0) = c0 = 0.15 mol/cm^3 for all x at time t = 0,

I'll post a revised project page on the web site.

Thanks for pointing out the inconsistency!

Prof. Greenfield
