Dear ChE 530 students,

I will be posting Hwk 2 on-line momentarily. The first three problems interrelate polymerization kinetics and the engineering of polymerization reactors (solution polymerization, suspension polymerization, emulsion polymerization). They give a good chance to take the ideas we talked about in class and to use them in a problem.

The last 3 problems are from the 2007 exam. This will give you an example of how I phrase and write questions for the exam in this course.

The last of these 3 problems is related to material that we'll begin to discuss in class this coming Wednesday (phase behavior thermodynamics and Flory-Huggins theory).

The homework is due on Wednesday March 4. I'll turn the grading around quickly so you'll have it back in time for the midterm during the week of March 9-13.
