Outline: This
course is designed to give students a working knowledge of simulation
techniques. After taking this course, students should be able
to design and conduct simulation studies independently and should
be able to determine the tools best suited to the project of interest.
The topics covered shall include:
Simulation Methods
Random Number Generators
Statistical Tests
Programming Structure of Simulation
PROMODEL
SLAM-AWESIM
Spreadsheet based simulations
Output analysis
Grading: Grades
shall be determined based on scores in an exam (25%), and projects(70
%) and homeworks (5%). Team work is encouraged unless specifically
forbidden.
