Company Description: Product testing and certification with building materials such as roofing, wall/ceiling panels, skylights, various plastics, cables, etc.
Responsabilities: The person in this position will plan, conduct and direct the development and evaluation of approved scientific and engineering projects, with little or no supervision, in the area of building materials and construction assembly performance as they relate to wind, fire and other exposures and to increase the technical knowledge and provide solutions to problems of property loss and loss control for use by FM Global and their customers. Duties will include, but are not limited to, the development of proposals, project management, supervision of tests, documentation of results, preparation of written reports and other complex tasks associated with third party certification. In addition, duties may include making presentations and providing representation to trade associations. The working environment includes both the office and laboratory. Overnight travel, to consult with customers, attend technical conferences and to conduct and monitor tests at test facilities, is typically less than 20%.
Qualifications:
This position requires someone with an MS in technical area or BS plus 3 years of related experience; technical degrees in civil, structural, chemical or mechanical engineering and knowledge of or employment in a building materials industry preferred. The successful candidate should have demonstrated project management skills, superior written and verbal communication skills, and computer proficiency with programs such as word, excel and outlook; professional registration, experience with roofing components and assemblies, or knowledge of FM Global loss prevention guidelines a plus.

Posting Title: Elec.  Engineer (Reference: 010689)
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will have project responsibility for the testing and analysis of electrical equipment including electronic process control and measuring equipment submitted for FM Approval. Prior familiarity with design safety standards for electrical equipment particularly those used in hazardous (classified) locations (e.g. ANSI, IEC, AUS/NZ, CSA, UL, EN, and FM Approval Standards) and installation standards (e.g. National Electrical Code) is desired. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential due to frequent client interface. This position will require approximately 10-15% domestic and overseas travel.
Qualifications: This position requires a bachelors in electrical or electronic engineering. A minimum of 2 years' industry experience preferably in process control and measuring equipment. Basic computer literacy.
