Position: ENTRY LEVEL Manufacturing Engineer
Job Summary : To interleave with Engineering, and the Manufacturing departments in the Screen, Laser, and Shop Operations servicing need in manufacturing and production. First and primary function is to work together with the Engineering Manager and VP of Operations or Screen Manager to create tooling drawings and convert engineering designs into screens and tooling. Work may be from normal production or from projects from Sales, R & D, or Manufacturing Improvements. The Manufacturing Engineer will report to the VP, Operations. The emphasis will be on working with engineering to convert design ideas and rough plans into finalized tooling drawings, including revisions and intermediate steps. The Manufacturing Engineer will also conduct testing as necessary to either establish operating guidelines or to create improvements to materials, machines, or processes. “First article” manufacturing runs will be tracked and monitored by the Manufacturing Engineer to ensure the final outcome to a particular design or tooling change. 
IMS manufactures Surface Mount Chip Resistors and other products using Thick Film manufacturing techniques onto Ceramic. Processes include Screening, Firing in Belt furnaces, Laser Trimming, Laser Scribing, Dicing with Diamond Resinoid blades, Inspection, Resistance testing, and related procedures.  
Requirements
1) Familiarity with Autocad and the ability and desire to create tooling drawings using planar drafting techniques is a requirement. 
2) Familiarity and/or the ability to become proficient with Resistance Measuring instruments and tools. 
3) Familiarity and/or the ability to become proficient with quantitative measuring tools including Calipers and Microscopes.
4) Understanding basic manufacturing processes including Flow Charts, how to read Source Control Documents, following and creating process procedures, etc. 
5) The ability to work with established processes and procedures. The ability to work with diverse groups at different levels within the company.
