Position Profile:
The worldwide demand for energy continues to grow, placing an ever increasing burden on the world’s energy infrastructure. Major energy companies like Shell, ExxonMobil, and BP Amoco rely on Dresser to provide a high quality of products.
One of Dresser’s core manufacturing facilities is Masoneilan located in Avon, Massachusetts. There, in an environment rich with tradition and pride, the company manufactures the world’s most reliable control valves and instrumentation.

Job Description: The Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer will assist in driving major change in the manufacturing side of the business. The IE/ME will be applying the latest manufacturing techniques including Lean Enterprise to the business to increase productivity, improve inventory, drive quality and expand capacity.
The position will have high visibility within the Masoneilan network with an opportunity to expand and grow. This position has upward mobility for the right person with opportunities into Manufacturing Leadership, Supply Chain, Sales or Marketing in the future.

_____ The Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer will:
- Assist in the research, development and justification of new capital equipment to improve the operation

Learn and apply Lean techniques including kaizen, kanbans, Poka-Yoke, and value stream mapping.
- Drive solutions to dramatically improve inventory turns of the business.

Provide guidance and direction to the Production team on all matters pertaining to quality and continuous improvement.

Impact all operational processes from order booking, thru engineering and supply chain, and into manufacturing thereby reducing cycle times.

Develop, recommend and implement procedures designed to promote and ensure standard practices in the production area.

Implement training programs aimed at strengthening and developing manufacturing/quality capabilities and technical skills for the operation.

Monitor and drive the Corrective/Preventative Action Process to achieve timely results

Develop and implement programs designed to enhance employee teamwork, productivity and quality of work.

Monitor manufacturing/quality trends and determine necessary actions to ensure trends track in the right direction.
Professional Qualifications
Candidates for the Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer will:
- Be an effective communicator who can comfortably interface with the production personnel and management in a team-based manner.
- Have a desire/passion to learn and apply Lean manufacturing to the business. Candidate will be introduced into the Lean Champions Program.
- Have a highly customer oriented attitude.
- Be proficient in the use/application of Microsoft products. A plus if other Modeling software programs are known.
- Has demonstrated a team based learning experience through group projects or other.
- Have studied and/or background in line balancing, time study, inventory modeling, statistics, supply chain, process mapping, and ergonomics.
- Have a BS degree in Industrial Engineering. A Masters degree is a plus.
