Job Opportunity
Job Description:
The Manufacturing Engineering Development Program (MEDP) is an entry-level
program, which prepares candidates for a career in the fast-paced, high
technology world of aerospace manufacturing. Manufacturing engineering
development occurs with classroom training and customized on-the-job
assignments. The two-year program provides four six-month, hands-on
assignments, which are complemented by more than 600 hours of technical
training. The MEDP program is structured to allow for individual development
with coaching and mentoring. Upon completion of the MEDP, participants will
have a solid base in manufacturing, design for manufacturing, integrated
product teams, solid models, manufacturing processes, tooling and fixtures,
gages and inspection, machine tool application and methods, CNC,
manufacturing quality systems and continuous improvement 'Kaizen' methods.
At the conclusion of the development program, graduates will be prepared to
assume a full-time assignment as a Manufacturing Engineer in one of Pratt &
Whitney's Module Centers.
Candidates should have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical,
Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering/ Technology. Experience in
manufacturing is highly desirable.
Positions are available in both Quality and Manufacturing. Extensive background in quality courses is not necessary to successfully work as a Quality Engineer. In addition to the benefits of the program and extensive training, Pratt and Whitney itself offers a competitive starting salary, and extremely good benefits, most notably its Employee Scholar Program.
Resumes should be directed to Guy Courcy (guy.courcy@pw.utc.com) and anyone with questions about the program itself can email me to Sarah Koenig Gabryluk at her work address (sarah.gabryluk@pw.utc.com).
Pratt and Whitney will be on-campus to conduct interviews on November 28th.
