The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Auburn University in Alabama will host this summer a NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program in Automotive Manufacturing Systems. Recent significant growth of the automotive industry in the Southeast, particularly in Alabama, has created a unique opportunity for research in applied industrial and systems engineering. While there are many multidisciplinary research opportunities, the REU Site at Auburn University will focus on automotive research related to manufacturing systems such as operations management, computer simulation, occupational safety, ergonomic safety, quality control, scheduling, reliability, and supply chain management.
