Job Description:

• Designs material handling/storage systems that maximize productivity and space utilization.
• Travels to the Distribution Centers to oversee projects.
• Evaluates existing systems to project critical timing sequences, construction costs, space needs, systems expansion and subsequent equipment needs.
• Makes decisions based on research regarding when building expansions must occur.
• Negotiates the most cost effective prices with vendors.
• Recommends vendors based on quality of product/proposal costs.
• Provides guidance to vendors during detailed design process.
• Ensures all material handling equipment installations are performed in a timely manner to minimize disruptions to the Distribution Center.
• Investigates leading edge technologies to determine wheter new concepts are applicable or beneficial.
• Provides extensive advisory engineering expertise to all divisions within The TJX Companies.
• Provides cost analysis studies and monitors and controls costs of equipment purchased for each project.

Requirements:

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of material handling systems in a distribution center environment.
• Project Management skills and understanding of work methods analysis.
• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering.
• Ability and willingness to travel.
