URI will use new driver simulator for research, training


The Commencement took place on May 16 and 17, 2009. Sam Cheung, David Gudbrandsen and Meghan Steinhaus, received their MS degree.
James Allen, Tracey Cannon, Ray Cwalina, James Ferguson, Trevor Gerard, Shawn Gienty, Jonathan Grillot, Justin Harrington, Kevin Roy, Stephanie Sirois, Justin Stephens and Diana Torrez received their BS degree.
Shawn Gienty is the recipient of the President's Award and James Ferguson is the recipient of the Nelson C. White Award.

May 2008 IIE Meeting
Dr.Valerie Maier- Speredelozzi and Dr. Wang attended the 2008 International Industrial Engineering Research Conference in Vancouver, Canada. They have presented 5 papers in the conference and attended many illuminating sessions.
May 2008 Graduation

Rocio Escalante, Christian Brandit, Nils Franzen, Jeff Severson, and Aaron Clark received their MS degree, and Kevin B ranagan , Felix Rojas, Efe Sacli received their BS degree. Efe is the recipient of the President's Award and Felix is the recipient of the Nelson C. White Award.

TRB Conference, 2008
The 87th Transportation Research Board Meeting took place in Washington D.C. from January 13 to 17. Dr. Maier- Speredelozzi, Dr. Wang, and some students attended to present their research work in different sessions.
Variable Messaging Signs Simulation
Some students from the Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Department along with Dr Jay Wang and Dr Valerie Maier-Speredelozzi conducted a study in Warwick Mall from May 11, 2007 to May 17, 2007 related to Variable Messaging Signs. They were conducting surveys and running a simulation on a car in order to understand what is the best way to display an electronic message on a highway so that the driver understands it in a more effective and timely manner.
