Judy Thomson has joined the staff of the URI College of Engineering as Executive Assistant to Dean Bahram Nassersharif.  Together with newly appointed Business Manager Lee Ann DeRita (see article above), Thomson is charged with helping to bring the College to a new level of operational excellence.

 

Thomson most recently worked as assistant in the Provost’s Office at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), where she oversaw the office operations, including supervision of work-study students, assisted the Faculty Committee and Dean’s Advisory Committee, and served as a member of the Commencement Committee.  Earlier in her career at RISD, she worked as administrative assistant to the President, responsible for maintaining his schedule and the daily office operations, as well as acting as liaison to the Honorary Degree Committee.  She also assisted the director of trustee affairs with Board of Trustee operations.

 

Thomson has received several awards for her professional achievements, and currently serves on the Cumberland School Volunteers Board.
